Track & Field runs at Nazareth Alumni Opener

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT indoor track & field teams competed at the Nazareth Alumni Opener at the Golisano Training Center, Friday.

The men were led by three individual winners and a first-place relay.
Senior Matthew Funicelli won the weight throw (15.59m) while also finishing second in the shot put (14.90m).
Freshman Ben Sheehan won the long jump (6.73m) while senior Nick John won the pole vault (4.40m).
Freshman Trenton Goyette, sophomore Justin Jantzi, freshman Matthew Resnick and senior Matthew Skakal teamed to win the 4x200 relay (1:33.25) before also finishing second in the 4x400 (3:29.37).
The women were led by freshman Caroline Hill, who placed third in the 60 (8.24) and fourth in the 300 (43.59).
Sophomore Rosanna Hyde logged a fourth-place effort in the mile (5:41.43) while senior Ann Byerley placed fifth in the 3,000 (11:28.59).

WHAT'S NEXT
The teams are off until hosting the RIT Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 15, at Gordon Field House.
