Men's Basketball loses 105-101 to Pitt-Bradford in opener of Brodie Tournament

ROCHESTER, NY -- RIT (1-4) graduate student Chase Lewis led the Tigers with 20 points in a 105-101 loss to Pitt-Bradford (4-1) in the opening game of the 2021 Harold J. Brodie Tournament. The Tigers will face Fredonia in the consolation game, while the Panthers will play SUNY Poly in the championships game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RIT trailed by four in the first half, but went on a 27-11 run to lead 41-29 at halftime.
  • The Tigers extended their lead to 22 points on a pair of Kevin Ryan free throws midway through the second half.
  • Pitt-Bradford outscored RIT 45-23 over the final 9:28 of regulation, tying the score at 92-92 on a Greg Archie layup at the buzzer.
  • Trey Oyler gave the Panthers a 95-92 lead on his 3-pointer early in the OT
  • Ryan scored on RIT's next possession in the OT that cut the Pitt-Bradford lead to 95-94, but an Alex Rodriguez jumper on the Panthers next possession made it 97-93
  • Keegan Ocorr made 1-of-2 free throws that cut the Pitt-Bradford to 101-99
  • Isaiah Archie sealed the win with a free throw with :10 seconds remaining to make it a 105-101 final.

GAME NOTES
  • RIT shot 34-of-76 from the floor, including 11-of-32 from beyond the arc.
  • Lewis finished with 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting.
  • Ocorr tallied 17 points and three assists, while Ryan finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Brock Bowen tallied 19 points off the bench for the Tigers.
  • Isaiah Archie led Pitt-Bradford with 35 points on 13-of-19 shooting
  • Nathan Schneider tallied 14 points and 13 rebounds.
