Chase Lewis scored 17 to lead the Tigers to a 90-81 win at Wells (3-3) Tuesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior Keegan Ocorr capped off an 8-0 run that turned a 5-point RIT deficit into a 1-point Tigers lead midway through the first half.
- RIT outscored Wells 32-19 over the final 12:08 of the opening half to lead 49-37 at the break.
- Lewis led RIT with 11 first-half points, while sophomore forward Kevin Ryan tallied eight points.
- Senior Michael Young extended the RIT lead to 51-37 on his dunk early in the second half.
- Logan Jacobs hit a jumper with 13:34 to play to pull the Express to within six points.
- Lewis' jumper capped off an 11-5 Tigers run to give RIT a 65-53 lead.
- Caggiano extended the Tigers lead to 14 points on his 3-pointer, but Wells cut the lead to five points on a dunk by Ivan Oduro-Domphreh with 2:23 to play.
- Timely free throw shooting by Ocorr and Lewis inside the last minute helped seal the win for RIT.
GAME NOTES
- RIT shot 33-of-63 from the floor, including 10-of-25 from beyond the arc.
- Caggiano finished with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while Lewis shot 6-of-9 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range.
- Senior Curtis Nesbit tallied 11 points and aded three assists, while Ryan finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
- Ty McBride led Wells with 23 points.
