ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (8-11, 6-6 Liberty League) women's basketball team was defeated 72-60 by Ithaca College (14-4, 10-2 Liberty League) in Liberty League action from Clark Gym Tuesday.
RIT trailed 15-13 after the first quarter, and 35-31 at halftime. The Tigers outscored the Bombers 17-16 in the third quarter, but Ithaca came back in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Tigers 21-12.
RIT shot 31.7 percent from the floor on 20-of-63 shooting. The Tigers made 8-of-22 from beyond the arc, and went 12-of-17 from the foul line.
Brooke Stanley (Minnetonka, MN/Benilde-St. Margaret's) led the Tigers with 14 points.
Sabrina Wolfe (Troy, NY/Troy) and
Alyssa Juergens (Rochester, NY/Hilton) each tallied 12 points for the Tigers.
Cassidy O'Malley led Ithaca with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Grace Cannons tallied 14 points, and Melissa Buxton chipped in 11 points off the bench for the Bombers who shot 40.6 percent from the floor.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Feb. 7, when the Tigers host Clarkson University at 5:30 p.m. from Clark Gym.
