Women's basketball loses at William Smith in Liberty League action Saturday

GENEVA, NY -- The RIT (8-10, 6-5 Liberty League) women's basketball team was defeated 77-60 Saturday at William Smith College (10-8, 6-5 Liberty League) in Liberty League action from Bristol Gym Saturday.

RIT trailed 16-7 after the first quarter, and 33-22 at halftime. The Tigers were outscored 44-38 in the second half. RIT shot 36.7 percent from the floor on 22-of-60 shooting. The Tigers made 7-of-20 from beyond the arc, and went 9-of-17 from the foul line.

Alyssa Juergens (Rochester, NY/Hilton) led RIT with 13 points. Brooke Stanley (Minnetonka, MN/Benilde-St. Margaret's) and Holland Gillis (Boston, MA/Boston Latin) each scored nine points, while Kaleesha Joseph (Somerville, MA/Prospect Hill Academy Charter) finished with eight rebounds. Olivia Paris led William Smith with 22 points. Stella Davis tallied 18 points for the Herons who shot 42.3 percent from the floor.

RIT returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 4, when the Tigers host Ithaca College at 5:30 p.m. from Clark Gymnasium.
