ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (3-6) women's basketball team was defeated 81-53 at the University of Rochester (6-5) in non-conference action Tuesday evening.
RIT shot 28.8 percent from the floor on 19-of-66 shooting. The Tigers made just one 3-point field goals, and went 14-of-20 from the foul line. Kaleesha Jospeh led RIT with a season-high 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Brooke Stanley (Minnetonka, MN/Benilde-St. Margaret's) finished with eight points.
Julianna Okoniewski led Rochester with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Hannah Lindemuth tallied 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Alexis Sestric tallied 11 points off the bench for the Yellowjackets.
RIT trailed 16-11 after the first quarter, and 37-26 at halftime. The Tigers were outscored 44-27 in the second half.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, Jan. 10, when RIT hosts Liberty League rival William Smith College from Clark Gym at 5 p.m.
