ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (3-7, 1-2 Liberty League) women's basketball team lost 90-86 in overtime to William Smith College (7-3, 3-0 Liberty League) in Liberty League action fro Clark Gym Friday evening.
Sabrina Wolfe (Troy, NY/Troy) tied the game for RIT with her three-pointer with six remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime. The Tigers erased a 20-point deficit, outscoring the Herons 45-30, including 22-9 in the fourth quarter.
RIT shot 45.3 percent from the floor on 34-of-75 shooting. The Tigers made just 3-of-18 from beyond the arc and went 15-of-21 from the foul line.
Kaleesha Joseph (Somerville, MA/Prospect Hill Academy Charter) and
Brooke Stanley (Minnetonka, MN/Benilde-St. Margaret's) each scored 21 points for RIT, while
Alyssa Juergens (Rochester, NY/Hilton) finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Olivia Parisi led William Smith with 20 points and nine rebounds. Stella Davis tallied 19 points, while Lauren DeVaney finished with 14 points and nine rebounds for the Herons who shot 50.8 percent from the floor.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 11, when the Tigers host Union College at 2 p.m. from Clark Gym.
