CANTON, NY -- The RIT (6-9, 4-4 Liberty League) women's basketball team lost 69-56 at Liberty League rival St. Lawrence University (10-5, 6-2 Liberty League) Friday evening.
RIT trailed 21-12 after the first period and trailed 39-12 at halftime. The Saints outscored the Tigers 21-11 in the third quarter, while RIT won the fourth quarter, 22-9.
The Tigers shot 34.8 percent from the floor on 12-of-66 shooting. RIT made just 3-of-15 from beyond the arc, and went 7-of-12 from the foul line.
Sabrina Wolfe (Troy, NY/Troy) led the Tigers with 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Alyssa Juergens (Rochester, NY/Hilton) tallied 13 points, and
Sara Nijssen (Schwenksville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) chipped in eight points off the bench for the Tigers.
Ava McCann led St. Lawrence with a game-high 23 points. Katie Frederick tallied 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Olivia Middleton chipped in 12 points for the Saints who shot 46.4 percent from the floor.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 25, when the Tigers play at Clarkson University at 2 p.m. from Potsdam, N.Y.
