ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (9-0) women's swimming and diving team defeated William Smith College 187-86 Wednesday evening from the Judson Pool. With the win, the Tigers have won 27 straight dual meets dating back to the 2017 season.
RIT began the meet with a sweep of the top-3 positions in the 200-yd. medley relay. The team of
Mililani Rosare (Campbell, CA/Westmont), Khavy Sangasy,
Sam Russell (Fredon, NJ/Kittatinny Regional) and
Phoebe Huey (Fort Collins, CO/Fossil Ridge) won the event in a time of 1:53.14.
Sangasy and Rosare each won two individual events. Sangasy won the 100-yd. (55.54 seconds) and the 200-yd. (2:00.79) freestyle. Rosare was a winner in the 50-yd. backstroke (28.93 seconds) and the 200-yd. breaststroke (2:33.89).
In diving action
Anastasia Ueda (Lafayette, CA/Miramonte) won the 3-meter competition with score of 234.90, and was second in the 1-meter, finishing with a score of 382.35.
Ashley McDonald (Rochester, NY/West Irondequoit) won the 1-meter competition with a score of 396.67.
Other winners included Russell in the 50-yd.breaststroke (31.73 seconds),
Sydney Burgard (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) in the 50-yd. freestyle (25.61 seconds),
Emily Lederman (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown) in the 20--yd. backstroke (2:18.14) and
Margo McBrearty (Oswego, NY/Oswego) in the 50-yd. butterfly (27.85 seconds).
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 25, when the Tigers host Nazareth College at 1 p.m. from Judson Pool.
