CLINTON, NY -- The RIT (7-0) women's swimming and diving team defeated Hamilton College 158-136 from Bristol Pool on the campus of Hamilton College Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Tigers have won 26 straight dual meets dating back to the 2017 season.
RIT began the meet with a win in the 200-yd. medley relay. The team of
Mililani Rosare (Campbell, CA/Westmont),
Sam Russell (Fredon, NJ/Kittatinny Regional),
KhaVy Sangasy (Brockport, NY/Brockport) and
Sydney Burgard (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) won the event in a time of 1:51.39.
Sangasy won three individual events. She won the 100 (1:06.86) and 200-yd. (2:27.88) breaststroke, and was a winner in the 400-yd. IM (4:47.72).
Emily Lederman (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown) (11:16.86) and
Eleanor O'Gorman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth) (11:18.17) placed 1-2 in the 1,000-yd. freestyle.
Rosare picked up a win in the 100-yd. backstroke, finishing in a time of 1:00.82, and
Devon Scott-Davis (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) won the 500-yard freestyle (5:30.29).
In diving action,
Ashley McDonald (Rochester, NY/West Irondequoit) won the 1-meter competition with a score of 205.05. She was second in the 3-meter with a score of 204.20.
Anastasia Ueda (Lafayette, CA/Miramonte) won the 3-meter competition with a score of 208.80, and finished second in the 1-meter with a score of 200.15.
The Tigers sealed the win with victory in the 200-yd. freestyle relay. The team of Russell, Burgard,
Elle Holland (East Concord, NY/Springville Griffith) and
Phoebe Huey (Fort Collins, CO/Fossil Ridge) came home first in a. time of 1:42.49.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 18 against the University of Rochester at 1 p.m. from Judson Pool.
