ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (4-7, 1-3 Liberty League) men's basketball team was defeated 59-49 by Union College (6-4, 3-2 Liberty League) in Liberty League action from Clark Gym Saturday afternoon.
RIT shot 32.7 percent from the floor on 18-of-55 shooting. RIT made 5-of-23 from beyond the arc, and went 8-of-12 from the foul line.
Keegan Ocorr (Fairport, NY/Charles Finney) led RIT with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Cobey Adekanbi (Bloomfield, CT/Loomis Chafee) tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds, while
Curtis Nesbit (Woodbridge, NJ/Woodbridge) and
Chuck Okehie (Owings Mills, MD/The McDonough School) each tallied nine points.
Mike Concannon led Union with 16 points and eight rebounds. Brian Noone finished with 15 points, while Kevin Jefferson tallied 11 points for the Dutchmen who shot 31.7 percent from the floor.
RIT led 28-23 at halftime, shooting 39.3 percent from the floor. The Tigers led by as many as 19 points late in the opening half on an Ocorr bucket. Noone hit a jumper for Union late in the half to cut the lead to 28-20. Union began the second with a 7-2 spurt, tying the game at 30-30 on a Concannon layup early in the half. The Dutchmen took the lead for good on a Concannon 3-pointer with 16:21 to play. The Tigers mustered just 21 points in the second half.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 14, when RIT faces Ithaca College at 7:30 p.m. from Ithaca, N.Y.
