ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (6-0) women's swimming and diving team defeated LeMoyne College 179-119 from the Judson Pool Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Tigers have won 25 straight dual meets dating back to the 2017 season.
RIT began the meet with a win in hte 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Mililani Rosare (Campbell, CA/Westmont),
Sam Russell (Fredon, NJ/Kittatinny Regional),
KhaVy Sangasy (Brockport, NY/Brockport) and
Sydney Burgard (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) won the event in a time of 1:52.93. The Tigers wrapped up the victory with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Sangasy, Russell,
Phoebe Huey (Fort Collins, CO/Fossil Ridge) and
Elle Holland (East Concord, NY/Springville Griffith) came home first in a time of 3:42.16.
Rosare was a winner in the 100-yard backstroke, winning in a time of 1:00.72. She also was a winner in the 200-yard IM, coming home in a time of 2:16.44. Russell brought home first place in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:09.32.
Elle Holland (East Concord, NY/Springville Griffith) won the 200-yard backstroke, winning in a time of 2:13.56. Sangasy won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.48)
In diving action,
Ashley McDonald (Rochester, NY/West Irondequoit) won the 1-meter competition with a score of 198.65.
Mikayla Fors (Gales Ferry, CT/Ledyard) was second in the 1-meter (172.85). McDonald (221.25) and Fors (152.00) finished 1-2 in the 3-meter competition.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Dec. 6 when the Tigers begin competition in the 2019 Don Richards Invitational from Judson Pool.
