OSWEGO, NY -- The RIT women's swimming and diving team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 156-85 win at SUNY Oswego Wednesday evening. With the win, the Tigers have won 12 straight dual meets.
Mililani Rosare (Campbell, CA/Westmont),
Sam Russell (Fredon, NJ/Kittatinny Regional) and
KhaVy Sangasy (Brockport, NY/Brockport) each won multiple events. Russell was a winner in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.68) and the 100-yard freestyle (:55.48 seconds). Rosare won the 200-yard IM (2:16.46) and touched first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.59). Sangasy came home first in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:00.66, and won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:08.93.
Other winners included
Devon Scott-Davis (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:29.33),
Phoebe Huey (Fort Collins, CO/Fossil Ridge) in the 50-yard freestyle (:26.01 seconds),
Allie McCune (Orcahrd Park, NY/Orchard Park) in the 500-yard freestyle (5:37.38).
Anastasia Ueda (Lafayette, CA/Miramonte) in the 3-meter diving competition (199.50).
In relay action, the team of Rosare, Russell, Huey and Sangasy led off the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay, winning in a time of 1:54.15.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 26, against Clarkson University at 1 p.m. from Judson Pool.
