ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (6-2) men's swimming and diving team had its six-match winning streak snapped with a 201-99 loss at the University of Rochester (5-4) Monday afternoon.
RIT opened the meet with a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Tyler Schwarz (Stanley, NY/Marcus Whitman),
Carl Schlehr (Maineville, OH/Kings),
Eric Moss (Irvington, NY/Irvington) and
Will Brown (Boulder, CO/Fairview) came home second in a time of 1:40.01.
Moss won two individual events, and was third in another for RIT. He won the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in a time of 1:57.51, and was a winner in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in a time of :53.65. Moss also was third in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:03.37.
Joe Wang (Framingham, MA/Framingham) was second in the distance events, recording runner-up finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:12.88), and the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.28). Brown was second in the 50-yard freestyle (:22.00) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (:49.87).
In diving action,
Chase Van Duyne (Auburn, NY/Auburn) was second in the 3-meter competition with a score of 244.65.
Jon Bauer (Fairview, PA/McDowell) was fourth (222.37), and Abe Dulaney was fifth (158.02). In the 1-meter competition, Bauer finished second (259.64), while Van Duyne placed third 259.12.
The Tigers took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Brown,
Braden Feasley (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg),
Mark Truskinovsky (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) and Schwarz finished in a time of 1:29.49.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 26 at Nazareth College at 1 p.m.
