ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (19-5, 13-4 Liberty League) women's basketball team remained in a tie for first place in the Liberty League standings with a resounding 76-44 win over Union College (7-16, 4-13 Liberty League) from Clark Gym Friday evening. The Tigers remain in a three-way tie with Ithaca College and Skidmore College for first place.
RIT shot 45.9 percent from the floor on 28-of-61 shooting. The Tigers went 9-of-25 from beyond the arc, and made 11-of-13 free throws. Eleven different players scored for RIT.
Sabrina Wolfe (Troy, NY/Troy) led the Tigers with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting and added four assists and two steals.
Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton) tallied 15 points, while
Jessica Glaz (Rockaway Beach, NY/Scholars Academy) chipped in 10 points.
Amanda Olsen (Glen Mills, PA/Archmere Academy) added eight points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Jenni Barra and Nicole Conley led Union with 11 points apiece. Conley grabbed nine rebounds for the Dutchwomen who shot 30.9 percent from the floor.
RIT led 20-13 after the first quarter, and 49-23 at halftime. The Tigers outscored Union 19-6 in the third quarter to build a 65-29 lead. RIT led by as many as 40 early in the fourth quarter, cruising to the win. The Tigers sweep the season series with Union.
The Tigers never trailed and out-rebounded Union, 45-27.
RIT returns to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, hosting Bard College at 2 p.m. in the regular season finale for both teams. The Tigers will honor the class of 2018 (

The Tigers can secure the top seed and host the Liberty League Tournament next weekend with a win and a Skidmore loss. A win would guarantee a first round bye and give the Tigers their second 20-win season in the last three years.
