ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's track and field team excelled at the RIT Early Season Invitational from the Gordon Field House on Thursday evening.

RIT had several winners in the three-team meet versus local foes Nazareth College and Oswego State.

Curtis Geiger (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) led a top-seven sweep for the Tigers in the 60-meter dash. Geiger won the event in 7.10 seconds, while Jonathan Ennin (7.16) and
Max Gloskey (/) (7.18) were right behind. Geiger (22.80 seconds) nipped Gloskey (22.81 seconds) by the closest of margins, one, one-hundredth of a second in the 200-meter dash.
Stephen Morrissey (New Milford, CT/Trinity-Pawling School) was third, while
Christopher Callejo (West Babylon, NY/Patchouge-Medford) placed fourth

Dustin VanKirk was second in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 9.08 seconds.
Chris Tremblay () (54.14 seconds),
Jimmy Petrocchi (Dracut, MA/Dracut) (54.32 seconds) and
Ellyson Grant () (54.53 seconds) swept the top-three spots in the 400-meter dash.
Otto Wilson (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen High school) led a sweep in the 500-meters, winning by four tenths of a second over teammate
Matthew Skakal (Lancaster, NY /Lancaster High School ) in 1:09.16.

Derek Swarthout (Macedon, NY/Penfield) (2:02.49) and
Zach Thesier (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) (2:02.96) were 1-2 in the 800-meters.
Andrew Chabot (Campton, NH/Plymouth Regional) led a 1-2-3-4 sweep for RIT in the 1,000-meters, winning by two seconds in 2:38.77.
Jason Ziskind (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) was second, while
Doug Luba (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) placed third and
Nick Valenti (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford), fourth.

Adam Styer (Schwenksville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) (4:49.03) and
James Kane (New Milford, CT/New Milford) (4:49.21) placed third and fourth in the mile run.

RIT claimed four of the top five spots in the long jump.
Jeff Walter (/) was the event winner, recording a leap of 6.91 meters on his first attempt.
Devante Marshall (Gloversville, NY/Mayfield) finished second with a jump of 6.70 meters. Van Kirk placed fourth (6.05 meters), while
Noah Flynn (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) was right behind in fifth (5.98 meters).

Marshall claimed victory in the triple jump with a leap of 13.89 meters, while
Bradley Morissette (Auburn, ME/Edward Little) was third.

Eric Hamm (Portchester, NY/Hendrick Hudson) won the high jump, clearing 1.68 meters, while
Grant Croft (Newbury, NH/Kearsage) was right behind at 1.63 meters.

RIT enjoyed the top-five finishes in the shot put.
Matthew Funicelli () won the event with toss of 13.56 meters, while
Zach Darling (Rome, PA/Northeast Bradford) was right behind at 13.50 meters.
Mickey Evans (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) (13.05 meters),
Jamie Baldwin (Rochester, NY) (12.59 meters) and
Ethan Ettienne (Lanham, MD/Model Secondary School for the Deaf) (11.63 meters) rounded out the top five.

Darling led a RIT sweep in the weight throw with a toss of 16.08 meters to win the event. Ettienne (15.05 meters) was second, while Funicelli placed third.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019 as they host the RIT Invitational from the Gordon Field House. Action begins at 10 a.m.
