ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's hockey team heads to Boston to take on No. 13 Northeastern University in a non-conference contest from Matthews Arena that begins at 7 p.m.

RIT, who is receiving votes in the most recent USCHO.com national poll, is in the midst of playing eight out of nine games on home ice to end the fall semester. Saturday's contest marks the lone road game during that stretch.

RIT (6-3-1, 4-2-1 AHA) is looking to extend its winning streak to four games and unbeaten streak to five after shutting out Canisius, 2-0 at the Polisseni Center last Tuesday night. Gabe Valenzuela (Brampton, Ontario/North York Rangers) and Will Calverley (Scarborough, Ontario/Chilliwack Chiefs) scored for the Tigers, while Logan Drackett (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Canucks) made 25 saves in net for his first collegiate shutout. Calverley's goal was the first of his collegiate career, while linemate Kobe Walker (Lloydminster, Alberta/Lloydminster Bobcats) drew an assist for his first point.

Abbott Girduckis (Belleville, Ontario/Wellington Dukes) leads the team in scoring through 10 games this season with 11 points on five goals and six assists. Jake Hamacher (Corona, CA/Dubuque Fighting Saints) and Valenzuela are right behind with nine points, apiece while Erik Brown (Keene, Ontario/Kemptville 73's) has a team-best six goals. Drackett has played in all 10 games in net and has a 1.98 goals against average and a .932 save percentage.

Northeastern (7-3-1, 4-1-1), like RIT, is looking for its fourth straight win. The 13th ranked Huskies were in action last Friday, earning a 1-0 win over Vermont. Zach Solow scored early in the third period and Cayden Primeau stopped all 26 shots he faced for the shutout. Grant Jozefek leads Northeastern in scoring with 13 points on eight goals and five assists, while Jeremy Davies and Brandon Hawkins have seven assists each. Primeau has played in all 11 games between the pipes and has a 2.43 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.

The Huskies have six NHL draft picks on their roster.

RIT and Northeastern met for the first time last season, a 3-3 tie from Blue Cross Arena as part of Brick City Homecoming & Family Weekend. Brown scored a pair of goals for the Tigers, while Drackett made 41 saves in his first collegiate start.

Saturday's contest will be aired on WITR 89.7 FM and Fox Sports 1280 with Ed Trefzger and Scott Biggar on the call. Live stats and video are also available.
