CLINTON, NY -- The RIT (9-1) women's swimming and diving team won its ninth straight dual meet of the season with a 184-112 win at Hamilton College on Sunday afternoon to close out the 2017-18 regular season. The meet was originally scheduled for Jan. 13, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
In relay action, the team of
Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis),
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy),
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview) and
Katie Mayer (Bristol, VT/Vergennes Union) won the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:52.44.
Eleanor O'Gorman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth),
Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly), Zbranak and Mayer won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:43.80.
A trio of Tigers won multiple individual events. Zbranak won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:00.21, and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:24.60. Adams was the winner in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:08.66, and the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:31.73. Phillips took home a first place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:14.72), and the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.00).
Other winners included
Addy Maykish (Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:13.64), and
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.76). Mayer won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.14 seconds.
On the diving board,
Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) won the 1-meter diving competition (231.25 points) and
Alaiya Tuntemeke (Livonia, NY/Livonia) took first in the 3-meter event (233.70).
RIT will returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 21 when the Tigers begin competition at the 2018 Liberty League Championship hosted by Ithaca College.
