ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (11-2, 6-1 Liberty League) women's basketball team suffered its first conference loss of the season, falling to Vassar College (9-5, 4-3 Liberty League) 75-70 Saturday afternoon at Clark Gym. Vassar outscored the Tigers 39-28 in the second half.
RIT shot 45.5 percent from the floor on 30-of-66 shooting. The Tigers went 4-of-14 from behind the arc, and went 6-of-7 from the foul line.
Cori Okada (Fullerton, CA/Troy) led RIT with a 30 points, two shy of her career high of 32 points set last season. She had seven rebounds and dished out three assists.
Jessica Glaz (Rockaway Beach, NY/Scholars Academy) chipped in 18 points, while
Sabrina Wolfe (Troy, NY/Troy) added eight points.
Ariella Rosenthal led Vassar with 14 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Kim Romanoff tallied 18 points, while Samarah Cook chipped in 16 points off the bench for the Brewers, who shot 52.7 percent from the floor.
The lead changed hands four times in a fast-paced first quarter, with Vassar holding a slim 19-18 lead. RIT would use a late 11-5 run to end the first half and take a 42-36 lead into the break. Glaz led all scorers with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field in the first half.
Vassar would outscore RIT 21-13 in the third quarter, using a 13-2 run midway through to take a 57-55 lead after three quarters.

The Brewers led RIT 65-59 before Glaz capped off a 6-0 RIT run, tying the score at 65-65 on her layup with 3:51 to play in the fourth quarter. Rosenthal drained a 3-pointer on Vassar's next possession to give the Brewers a 68-65 lead. After an RIT miss, Sophie Nick scored off an assist from Nicole Teta with 1:34 to play to extend the Vassar lead to 70-65.
Trailing 72-67, Okada drained a 3-pointer with 19 seconds to play to cut the Vassar lead to 72-70. The Brewers made their free throws down the stretch to hold on for the win.
The loss was RIT's first against a Liberty League opponent since Feb. 4, 2017. RIT had won 11 straight contests against league foes.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Jan. 19 at St. Lawrence. Tip-off from Canton, N.Y. is 6 p.m.
