NCAA SELECTION RELEASE
ROCHESTER, NY – The nationally ranked No. 8 RIT women's crew team will send two boats to the NCAA Rowing Championships on May 26-27 at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J., as the Tigers were selected as a Pool A institution. RIT secured an automatic bid when they captured the Liberty League title in late April.
The championships are comprised of six teams fielding two boats of eight rowers and a coxswain. Two at-large eight boats are also selected.
Joining RIT as the Pool A bids are Washington College, Bates College and Wellesley College. Ithaca College and Williams College received the Pool B/C bids to complete the six schools sending two boats. Pacific Lutheran University and Wesleyan University will send one boat as the at-large bids.
RIT will be making its first appearance at the NCAA Championships in program history.
RIT's varsity eight will consist of

The second varsity eight will be

The Tigers second varsity eight will compete in Heat A, Lane 2 at 8:12 a.m. on Friday, May 26. RIT's varsity eight will compete at 8:48 a.m. in Heat B, Lane 5. The fifth and sixth place second varsity eight boats will compete in the petite final on Saturday, May 27 at 11 a.m. The top four finishers will compete in the grand final at 11:12 a.m. The seventh and eighth place varsity eight boats will compete in the petite final at 11:24 a.m., while the top six finishers from Friday will compete in the grand final at 11:36 a.m.
