ROCHESTER, NY – RIT women's lacrosse head coach Jeff McGuigan announced the 2017 regular season schedule on Friday, Feb. 3. The Tigers are scheduled to play 16 contests, including eight at Tiger Stadium.

RIT opens the season on March 1 at The College at Brockport and three days later, welcomes former assistant coach Karen Shaddock and her Lycoming College Warriors to the RIT Turf Field for the home opener.

A week later, RIT will head to the Spring Fling Tournament in Clermont, Fla. To take on The College of Wooster on March 13 and Ohio Wesleyan University two days later. Before beginning Liberty League play, the Tigers close out their non-conference schedule with three consecutive home games against SUNY Geneseo on March 22, Oswego State University on March 25 and Nazareth College on March 28.

RIT plays its final nine contests against Liberty League foes, beginning with back-to-back road contests against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on March 31 and Skidmore College the following day.

From there, RIT plays four consecutive home games on back-to-back weekends. RIT hosts Bard College and Vassar College on April 7-8 from Tiger Stadium and St. Lawrence University and Clarkson University on Easter weekend, April 14-15.

On April 21, the Tigers make the short trip to Fauver Stadium to take on University of Rochester and close out the regular season the next weekend on the road against Union College (April 28) and William Smith College (April 29).

"We like that our non-conference schedule will prepare us for the grueling Liberty League season," said McGuigan, who is entering his 10th season at RIT. "The Liberty League is so competitive and needing to finish out games will be the key."

The Liberty League Tournament will take place on May 5-6 at the highest seed. The top four teams in regular season play make the league tournament. The Liberty League Champion will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

RIT finished the 2016 season an 8-8 record, including a 5-4 mark in league play. The team ended the year by winning its four games.
