ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The RIT women's hockey team will play its final regular season games of the 2016-17 season, hosting College Hockey America foe Mercyhurst at the Gene Polisseni Center this weekend. Friday's game will begin at 6:05 p.m., while Saturday's gets underway at 2:05 p.m. Saturday is senior day, as RIT will honor

Brooke Stoddart (Elmvale, Ontario/Elmvale),
Mackenzie Stone (Kars, Ontario/South Carleton),
Taylor Thurston (Kanata, Ontario/All Saints Catholic), and
Caitlin Wallace (Brantford, Ontario/Assumption Collegiate).
Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for RIT staff, faculty and alumni, $3 for youth, and as always, admission is free for all RIT students (one ticket per valid ID). RIT (6-24-2, 4-12-2 CHA) is currently fifth in the College Hockey America standings with 10 points. The Tigers can finish either fifth or sixth. Mercyhurst is currently third in the standings, and can finish as low as fourth.
RIT is coming off a pair of losses to Syracuse, where the Tigers lost by scores of 5-2 and 2-0.
Kendall Cornine (Kinnelon, NJ/Morristown Beard) and
Reagan Rust (Southaven, MS/Moon Area) scored RIT's goals on Friday, while Stoddart made 33 saves. Saturday, the Tigers were shutout, while
Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) made 32 saves on 34 shots in Saturday's loss.
Sophomore
Kendall Cornine (Kinnelon, NJ/Morristown Beard) leads the team in scoring with 19 points (12 goals and seven assists). She has 13 points (nine goals and four assists) over her last 13 games and 17 points (10 goals and seven assists) over the last 18 contests. Wallace sits just behind with 14 points (seven goals and seven assists) in her final year with the Tigers.
Mercyhurst comes into the weekend with a 13-17-2 record, including a 9-8-1 mark in conference play. The Lakers are coming off a weekend sweep of Lindenwood, winning 3-2 on Friday and 5-1 on Saturday. Brooke Hartwick leads the team with 30 points (16 goals and 14 assists) and is fourth in then nation with six power-play tallies, while Taylor Accursi sits just behind with 21 points (eight goals and 13 assists). Jessica Convery and Sarah McDonnell have split time in the net for the Lakers this season. Convery has an 8-9-1 record with a 2.03 goals against average and .912 save percentage, while McDonnell has a 5-8-1 record with a 2.93 goals against average and .879 save percentage.
Mercyhurst leads the all-time series between the two schools, 16-4. The two teams split a weekend series at Mercyhurst on Jan. 13-14, with the Lakers winning game one, 5-2 and RIT taking game two, 4-0. In the opener,
Caitlin Wallace (Brantford, Ontario/Assumption Collegiate) scored a goal and added an assist, while
Tori Haywood (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's Catholic) added two helpers. The next day, Wallace and
Mallory Rushton (Amherst, Nova Scotia/New Hampton Prep) tallied a goal and an assist, while Haywood and
Mackenzie Stone (Kars, Ontario/South Carleton) also scored.
Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) stopped all 37 shots for her second collegiate shutout.
