ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's swimming and diving team improved to 3-1 in dual meets this season with a 201-81 win over SUNY Fredonia (0-2) Saturday afternoon from the Judson Pool.
RIT began the meet by sweeping the top two spots in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Eleanor O'Gorman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth),
Katrina Mayer (Bristol, VT/Vergennes Union), Olivia Philips and
Emily Lederman (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown) took first in a time of 1:53.98.
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East),
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy),
Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis), and
Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly) were second in a time of 1:54.01.
The Tigers swept the top-two spots in the 1,000-yard freestyle as well.
Adeline Maykish (Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) finished first in a time of 11:34.1, while
Carol Anderson (Silver Spring, MD/Albert Einstein) was second in 12:16.89. Lederman took home first in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:02.73, while
Grace Morales (South Riding, VA/Freedom) was third in a time of 2:08.68. Lederman got her second win with a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle finishing in 56.03. Smith was second in the event with a time of 58.45.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Phillips took first in a time of 1:03.45, and Woodling finished just behind, 27 one-hundredths of a second behind. RIT took the top-three spots in the 100-yard breaststroke with Adams finishing first in a time of 1:09.94,
Angela Petote-Bozza (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) was second and
Megan Hawkes (Franklinville, NJ/Gloucester County) was third.
Zbranak won the 200-yard butterfly finishing in 2:15.41, awhile Katie Ward was third with a time of 2:46.69. RIT finished top two in the 50-yard freestyle, Mayer took first (25.76) and Smith finished second (26.47). Zbranak and Woodling took the top two in the 200-yard backstroke. Zbranak won by nearly five seconds in a time of 2:14.51. Adams, Petote-Bozza and
Megan Hawkes (Franklinville, NJ/Gloucester County) took top three in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview) took the victory in the 500-yard freestyle (5:32.04), while Mayer was third (5:53.10). Morales won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:08.94 and O'Gorman took third with a time of 1:10.16.
In diving action,
Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) and
Alaiya Tuntemeke (Livonia, NY/Livonia) took the top two spots in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Hayes scored 233.05 on the 1-meter and 252.25 on the 3-meter board. Tuntemeke scored 214.60 on the 1-meter board and 235.50 on the 3-meter platform.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 4 in Liberty League action at St. Lawrence at 1 p.m.
