OSWEGO, NY – The RIT women's swimming and diving team (1-1) picked up its first dual victory of the 2017-18 season, earning a 153-90 win on the road over Oswego State (0-1) Wednesday evening.
Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis),
Adeline Maykish (Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) and
Emily Lederman (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown) won a pair of events each to lead the way for the Tigers in the pool.
Zbranak took the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:02.91, while winning the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.60. Maykish took the 1,000-free by 17 seconds in 11:32.92 in addition to winning the 500-free in 5:42.13.
Emily Lederman (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown) claimed victory in both the 200-yard individual medley (2:18.97) and 100-free (56.13 seconds).
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) won the 100-yard breaststroke over
Katrina Mayer (Bristol, VT/Vergennes Union) in a time of 1:11.05.
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview) was second in a pair of events, as was
Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly).
Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) won the 3-meter diving event with a score of 209.45. She was also third in the 1-meter.
Zbranak, Adams, Phillips and Smith won the 200-yard medley relay to get the Tigers on the board, winning by just under two seconds in 1:53.87. The 200-free relay of
Alex Sinnery (Groton, MA/Groton Dunstable),
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East),
Emily Lederman (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown) and
Grace Morales (South Riding, VA/Freedom) won easily in 1:47.50.
The Tigers are right back in action on Saturday, with a road dual meet at Alfred University that gets underway at 1 p.m.
