ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's hockey team returns home to face Atlantic Hockey rival American International College on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13 from the Gene Polisseni Center. Both games get underway at 7:05 p.m.
RIT (12-11-5, 12-6-4 Atlantic Hockey) begins the weekend third in the league standings with 28 points, one ahead of Holy Cross and one behind Air Force. RIT plays its final six games against Atlantic Hockey foes, including four on home ice.

The Tigers earned one point last weekend, recording a 2-2 tie on Friday, while falling to Air Force, 4-0 on Saturday. RIT had its eight-game unbeaten streak (5-0-3) snapped and fell for the first time on the road in league play this season. It snapped a program best 11-game unbeaten mark (9-0-2) on the road in conference play by the Tigers. On Friday,
Myles Powell (Courtenay, British Columbia/Cowichan Valley Capitals) and
Chase Norrish (Strongfield, Saskatchewan/Yorkton Terriers) scored power-play goals.
Josh Mitchell (Osoyoos, British Columbia/Alberni Valley Bulldogs) leads the Tigers in scoring with 24 points on four goals and 20 assists. Powell leads the team with 11 goals, including seven power-play markers and is right behind Mitchell with 21 points. RIT's defensive unit is tied for the national lead with 26 goals.
Chase Norrish (Strongfield, Saskatchewan/Yorkton Terriers) leads all RIT defensemen and is tied for third on the team with 18 points on six goals and 12 assists. In goal,
Christian Short (Vaughan, Ontario/Surrey Eagles) has started RIT's last 10 games and is 8-4-3 this season with a 2.65 goals against average and an .895 save percentage.
American International (5-23-2, 5-16-2 Atlantic Hockey) enters the weekend tied for tenth in the Atlantic Hockey standings with 12 points and is looking to snap a 12-game winless streak. On Tuesday, the Yellow Jackets rallied from a 3-1 third period deficit to force overtime before falling to Massachusetts, 4-3. Austin Orszulak leads American International in scoring with 20 points on 10 goals and 10 assists. In goal, Alex Murray is 5-16-2 with a 3.57 goals against average and a .904 save percentage.
This weekend marks the third and fourth meetings between the two schools this season, as RIT won both contests at AIC on Oct. 30-31 by scores of 4-2 and 6-2. RIT has a 14-game unbeaten streak against the Yellow Jackets, out-scoring them 55-21 over that stretch. Overall, RIT is 27-3-3 all-time against AIC and 24-3-2 versus them since moving to Division I in 2005.
