ROCHESTER, NY -- Three members of the RIT women's soccer team were named to the 2016 Liberty League Women's Soccer All-Conference Team on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Emily Thiel (Seattle, WA/Roosevelt) was a first team selection, while
Riley Yankowich (Deerfield Beach, FL/Germantown Academy) earned second-team honors.
Lauren Chester (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) was an Honorable Mention pick.
Thiel, a sophomore, played and started all 17 games in 2016. She was tied for third on the team in scoring with four points on a goal and two assists. She tallied her lone goal in a 2-0 win over St. John Fisher, and saw action in all eight Liberty League contests.
Yankowich, a co-captain, played in all 17 games this season. The redshirt sophomore was tied for fourth on the team in scoring with four points on two goals. Both her goals were game-winning tallies. She scored the game-winner in a 4-0 win over Clarkson, and had the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Skidmore on Oct. 1.
Chester played and started all 17 games in 2016, anchoring a defense that allowed 1.29 goals per game. The sophomore defender led a defensive unit that posted six shutouts, including three in Liberty League play.

RIT finished 2016 with a 7-9-1 overall record and finished with three wins in Liberty League competition.
