POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The RIT women's soccer team fell 1-0 to No. 20 Vassar in the Liberty League Tournament Championship game, Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vassar, the tournament's top seed, scored the lone goal of the match in the 43rd minute when Ava Holman headed in a cross from Caroline Sheehan.
- One of the best looks RIT had to tie the game came with less than a minute to play in the game when junior midfielder Lindsay Ford had a shot blocked in front of goal off a feed from senior forward Elena Onodera on the right side.
- RIT, the three-seed, generated 11 of its 13 total shots in the second half, including four on goal, but were unable to find the equalizer.
GAME NOTES
- RIT held a 6-to-1 advantage in corner kicks.
- In goal, senior Emily Sanchez made four saves in the first half to keep the Tigers within reach.
- Onodera led the Tigers with three shots, including two on goal.
- Jillian Antol, Lily Doucette, and Lindsay Ford each recorded a shot on goal.
- The setback puts the Tigers' record at 10-4-6.

The Tigers will need to wait until Monday (Nov. 10) to see if they receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III National Championship tournament or if the season comes to a close.
