SYRACUSE, NY -- The RIT (4-1) women's swimming and diving team continued its strong start to the season with a 147-96 win at LeMoyne College (2-3) on Saturday to extend its winning streak to three matches.
Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis) won two individual events to pace the Tigers.
RIT began the meet scoring 15 points in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of Brenna Woodling,
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy),
Lauren Perttula (Idaho Falls, ID/Idaho Falls), and Zbranak won the event in a time of 4:09.37, whileÂ
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview),
Megan O'Connor (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts),
Megan Hawkes (Franklinville, NJ/Gloucester County), and
Sarah Evans (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) placed third in a time of 4:25.94.
The team of
Emily Lederman (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown),
Sarah Evans (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna),
Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield), and
Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly) took the 400-yard freestyle by nearly six seconds in a time of 3:50.71 to close out the meet.
Zbranak won her first event in the 200-yard freestyle, coming home in a time of 2:02.28. She won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 55.95. Smith won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.49, Senecal won the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:12.13 with Phillips right behind in the second. Senecal was also second in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:17.21.
Woodling and Lederman were 1-2 in the 200-backstroke. Woodling won by four seconds in 2:18.09.
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) was victorious in the 200-breaststroke in 2:34.93. Addy Maykish had a runner-up finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 11:28.38.
Alaiya Tuntemeke won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 158.35. She placed second in the 3-meter event with a score of 209.10.
Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) won the 3-meter competition with a score of 212.65.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 19 when the Tigers swim at home against Alfred University. Action from Judson Pool begins at 1 p.m.
