SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – For the second consecutive year, RIT women's crew earned silver in the varsity 8 as the Tigers finished second overall at the Head of the Fish on Saturday.
The Tigers chased down their competition against the clock on the 3,200-meter course, placing second out of 20 crews. Coxswain

Claire Thomas (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland),
Emma Will (Squantum, MA/Woodward School for Girls) and
Tiffany Cao (Buffalo, NY/Hutchinson Central Technical) stopped the clock at 12:50.8. Wesleyan claimed first with a time of 12:33.4.
RIT finished sixth out of 18 boats in the second varsity 8 with a time of 13:59.6. The Tigers' lineup featured coxswain

RIT's novice eights also executed strong performances in a field of 31 crews. The novice 8 of coxswain

Co-captains Blackwell and Guthrie were excited with the day's results. "Despite a stressful start, our boats were able to trust our training and row the race that we prepared for. We felt that we made gains this season and hope to continue this momentum into the spring."
Saturday's race concludes an impressive fall campaign for RIT women's crew, which featured winning the Kate Louise Cup at the Head of the Genesee Regatta, a fifth place finish at the Head of the Charles Regatta and second at the Head of the Fish.
