TROY, NY -- The RIT (1-1) women's swimming and divng team was defeated 198-102 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1-0) on Saturday afternoon.
In relay action, the team of
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East),
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy),
Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield) and
Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly) placed second in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing in a time of 1:52.93. The Tigers took six points in the relay with a third place finish from the team of
Eleanor O'Gorman (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth),
Megan O'Connor (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts),
Lauren Perttula (Idaho Falls, ID/Idaho Falls) and Katie Mayer, who finished in a time of 1:57.63.
Adeline Maykish (Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 11:35.63, while
Sydney Kraeger (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) placed fifth in a time of 12:08.90.
Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis) and
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview) placed second and fourth, respecitvely in the 200-yard freestyle. Zbranak finished in a time of 1:58.71, while Phillips came home in a time of 2:06.07.
Adams was the winner in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in a time of 1:10.03, while Senecal won the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:16.68.
In diving action, Caroline Aliya placed second in the 1-meter event with a score of 190.00.
Amanda Drake (Endicott, NY/Maine Endwell) was fourth in 1-meter with a score of 160.65. In the 3-meter event,
Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) placed second with a score of 179.85, and Aliya was third with a score of 179.45. Drake placed fifth, earning a point for the Tigers, finishing with a score of 142.75.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 when the Tigers head to SUNY Fredonia for a road match that begins at 1 p.m.
