Complete 2014-15 CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America Track and Field release
ROCHESTER, NY – Junior
Jordan Sellers (Denver, PA/Garden Spot) of the RIT men's track and field team became the squad's first student-athlete to earn CoSIDA/Capital One Academic America honors since 2011, earning men's track and field/cross country third team honors on Tuesday, June 23.
Sellers, a game design and development major, carries a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. He won the 60-meter hurdles championship at the 2015 Liberty League Indoor Championships and was second in 2014. Last year, he was also a Liberty League Athlete of the Week, while recording two top-five finishes in hurdles at 2015 NYSCTC Championships. Sellers has personal best times of 7.52 seconds in the 60-meters, 8.7 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, 12.13 in the 100-meters, 15.75 in the 110-meter hurdles, 24.19 in the 200-meters, and 1:05:56 in the 400-meter hurdles
In the classroom, Sellers is a six-time Dean's List recipient, RIT Presidential Scholar, and National Society of Leadership and Success Member.
Teammates
Matt Giannino (Syracuse, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) and
Nii DoDoo (Accra, Ghana/Achimota), along with Sellers, earned Academic All-District honors last month. Sellers joins Michael Herb (2006), Stephen Burns (2007, 2008), Andrew Varble (2007, 2008), Kevin Smith (2007), and
Mike Dempsey (2011) as CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-Americans at RIT.
