RIT women's swimming earns big win against cross-town foe Nazareth College

PITTSFORD, NY –
The RIT women's swimming and diving team (6-5) picked up its sixth win of the 2014-15 season with a 157-139 victory over Nazareth College (4-5) Saturday afternoon.  The Tigers picked up wins in seven individual events, while adding victories in two relay races.
 
Sophomore Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield) led the Tigers with wins in three different events, while Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) had two wins herself. Senecal set the pace in the 100 and 200-meter butterfly with times of 1:09.38 and 2:34.84 respectively.  She also finished first in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:33.14.
 
Jill Sirkis finished right behind Senecal in both butterfly events in times of 1:11.72 and 2:40.84. Woodling won the 100 and 200-meter backstroke with times of 1:10.97 and 2:31.43.
 
Colleen Manning (Farmingdale, NY/St. Anthony's) and Allison Crim (Manchester, MD/Manchester Valley) finished out the top three spots in the 200-meter backstroke behind Woodling, finishing second and third respectively.
 
In diving action, Sam Huselstein (Olean, NY/Olean) finished first in the 3-meter event with 217.55 points, while taking second in the 1-meter with 222.05. Natalie Snyder (Rockville, MD/Rockville) finished on top in the 1-meter diving with 253.00 points. Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) placed second in the 3-meter and third in 1-meter action.
 
In relay action, the team of Woodling, Megan O'Connor (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts), Senecal, and Kelsey Schaefer (Berea, OH/Berea) won the 200-meter medley relay in a time of 2:11.25. Schaefer, Alex Timberlake (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili), Caitlin Foster (Bath, ME/Morse), and Woodling finished the 400-meter freestyle relay with the best time of 4:15.14.
 
The Tigers will be back in action Feb. 18-21 for the UNYSCSA Championships in Webster.
