ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's swimming and diving team (4-4) suffered a 170-129 loss to Hamilton College in Judson Pool Saturday afternoon, as the team honored its nine seniors, swimming in their final collegiate home meet.
Sophomores
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) and
Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield) each took two first place finishes. Woodling finished the 100 and 200-yard backstroke races in the top spot with times of 1:01.95 and 2:15.32 respectively. Senecal set the pace in both the 100 and 200-yard butterfly with times of 1:02.10 and 2:19.37.
Jillian Sirkis (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) finished right behind in both races in 1:03.37 and 2:23.42.
The RIT relay team made up of Woodling,
Megan O'Connor (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts), Senecal, and
Alex Timberlake (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) finished the 200-yard medley in 1:56.17 to claim first place.
Carol Anderson (Silver Spring, MD/Albert Einstein) took a second place finish in the 1,000-yard finishing in 11:27.22.
In the diving events,
Natalie Snyder (Rockville, MD/Rockville) scored 295.30 in the 1-meter dive to claim first.
Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) finished right behind her scoring 167.65. Hayes took the top spot in the 3-meter with 185.55, while
Amanda Drake (Endicott, NY/Maine Endwell) scored 161.30 for second.
Before the meet, RIT honored seniors Timberlake, Sirkis,
Caitlin Foster (Bath, ME/Morse),
Sam Huselstein (Olean, NY/Olean),
Colleen Manning (Farmingdale, NY/St. Anthony's),
Britney Merriman (Delhi, NY/Delware Academy),
Krystal Mitich (Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain), Kelsey Schafer, and
Rose Rustowicz (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale).
The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. on the campus of William Smith College.
