ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT (3-2) women's swimming and diving team cruised to a 123-96 win over St. Lawrence University (2-1) in dual meet action from Judson Pool on the campus of RIT Saturday afternoon. The Tigers picked up wins in six individual events led
Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield), who won two events.
RIT opened the meet with a win and a third place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East),
Megan O'Connor (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts), Senecal and
Alex Timberlake (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) won the event in a time of 1:56.55.
Amy Zuccaro (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) teamed with Ryan Shannon,
Britney Merriman (Delhi, NY/Delware Academy) and
Jenny Genovese (Lincoln, MA/Lincoln-Sudbury) to take home third in a time of 2:04.63.
Colleen Manning (Farmingdale, NY/St. Anthony's) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:04.64. Woodling finished second in a time of 2:05.58, followed by
Caitlin Foster (Bath, ME/Morse) was third in a time of 2:06.11.
Senecal picked up her first win of the meet in the 200-yard individual medley, winning in a time of 2:19.26. Jill Sirkis was second in a time of 2:22.65, while
Rachel Kobel (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen) was fourth in a time of 2:37.32. Senecal won her second event in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in a time of 1:01.15. Sirkis was third in the event finishing in a time of 1:06.39.
Woodling was one of three Tigers to finish in the top four in the 100-yard backstroke, winning the event in a time of 1:03.90. Zuccaro was third in a time of 1:06.31, and
Allison Crim (Manchester, MD/Manchester Valley) was fourth in a time of 1:07.01.
Foster took home the win in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 5:36.75.
Carol Anderson (Silver Spring, MD/Albert Einstein) was third (5:50.30) and
Grace Morales (South Riding, VA/Freedom) was fourth (5:50.42).
Sophomore
Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) won the 3-meter diving event with a score of 162.15.
RIT will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 15 when the Tigers face LeMoyne College at 1 p.m. in Syracuse, N.Y.
