ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT (2-2) women's swimming and diving team was defeated 176-122 by Fredonia State (1-2) who hosted the dual meet from Steele Hall Natatorium Saturday afternoon. The Tigers picked up wins in three individual events and also a victory in the free style relay.
Sophomore
Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield) won multiple events this afternoon. She took the number one spot in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly with times of 2:19.60 and 1:03.32, respectively. She also won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:21.63.
Jill Sirkis finished the 200-yard butterfly right after Senecal with a time of 2:22.97.
In the 200-yard individual medley,
Colleen Manning (Farmingdale, NY/St. Anthony's) and
Rachel Kobel (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen) placed second and third, finishing with times of 2:29.19 and 2:30.01 respectively.
In the diving events,
Natalie Snyder (Rockville, MD/Rockville) took third in the 1-meter event with a final score of 219.70.
Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) was fourth in the 3-meter scoring 193.95 points.
In relay action, The Tigers took the top three positions in the 200-yard freestyle realy. The team of
Alex Timberlake (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili),
Rose Rustowicz (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale),
Kelsey Schaefer (Berea, OH/Berea), and Manning won the race finishing in 1:47.62. The team of
Caitlin Foster (Bath, ME/Morse),
Rachel Kobel (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen),
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East), and Genovese were second with a time of 1:49.84, while
Allison Crim (Manchester, MD/Manchester Valley),
Grace Morales (South Riding, VA/Freedom),
Shavon McGlynn (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford), Katie Ward were third.
The Tigers will be back in action from Judson Pool on RIT campus Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.
