ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT (2-1) women's swimming and diving team cruised to a 131-94 win over Alfred University (0-2) in dual meet action from Judson Pool on the campus of RIT Saturday afternoon. The Tigers picked up wins in six individual events and also a victory in the 200-yard medley relay, while earning at least one point in 11-of-13 events.
Sophomore
Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield) won multiple events on Saturday. She won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.76, and the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:01.84.
Carol Anderson (Silver Spring, MD/Albert Einstein),
Caitlin Foster (Bath, ME/Morse) and
Grace Morales (South Riding, VA/Freedom) dominated the distance events for RIT. In the 1,000-yard freestyle, Anderson was first in a time of 11:37.39, while Foster was second in a time of 11:52.30 and Morales was third in a time of 12:01.82.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Foster won the event in a time of 5:40.39, while Anderson came home second in a time of 5:41.79, and Morales was third in a time of 5:50.40.
In diving action,
Natalie Snyder (Rockville, MD/Rockville) won the 1-meter event with a final score of 211.50.
Patsy Hayes (San Jose, CA/Abraham Lincoln) was second with a score of 175.50. In 3-meter diving action, Hayes took home the only points of the event finishing with a score of 161.50.
In relay action, the Tigers swept the top three positions in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East),
Megan O'Connor (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts), Senecal and
Kelsey Schaefer (Berea, OH/Berea) won the event in a time of 1:58.33. The team of
Amy Zuccaro (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury),
Shannon Ryan (Round Rock, TX/Stony Point), Jill Sirkis and
Alex Timberlake (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili) were second in a time of 2:00.40, while
Allison Crim (Manchester, MD/Manchester Valley),
Erika Bushey (Somers, CT/Somers),
MacKenzie Woodhouse (Addison, NY/Addison) and
Rose Rustowicz (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) were third.
RIT will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 1 when the Tigers face SUNY Fredonia at 1 p.m. in Fredonia, N.Y.
