ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT (1-1) women's swimming and diving team picked up its first win of the 2014-15 season with a 138-78 win over SUNY Oswego (0-1) in dual meet action from Judson Pool on the campus of RIT Wednesday evening. The Tigers picked up wins in nine individual events and also a victory in the 200-yard medley relay.
Sophomore
Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield) was one of three Tigers to win multiple events on Wednesday. She won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:20.79, and the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.14.
Colleen Manning (Farmingdale, NY/St. Anthony's) won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:06.87, and the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 57.80.
Carol Anderson (Silver Spring, MD/Albert Einstein) won both distance races Wednesday. She won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:42.55. Later in the meet, she won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:43.68.
Other winners included
Kelsey Schaefer (Berea, OH/Berea) who won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.76.
Natalie Snyder (Rockville, MD/Rockville) won the 1-meter diving with a score of 192.30, and
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:04.63.
In relay action, the team of Wooding,
Megan O'Connor (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts), Senecal and Schaefer won the 200-yard medey relay in a time of 1:58.46.
RIT will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 25 when the Tigers host Alfred University at 1 p.m. at Judson Pool.
