Men's swimming and diving loses 135-97 at Hamilton College

CLINTON, NY -- The RIT men's swimming and diving team was defeated 135-97 at Hamilton College on Saturday afternoon at Bristol Pool on the campus of Hamilton College.

The Tigers began the meet with a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Steve Paine (York, PA/Dallastown Area), Julius Jeong (Salisbury, MD/Wicomico), Ryan Moore (Herndon, VA/Oakton) and Scott Farrell (Buffalo, NY/North Tonawanda) came home second in a time of 1:41.91.

John O'Gorman (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier Central) placed second in 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 10:39.75. Paine finished third in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:51.26, and Farrell won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.82.

Matt DePalo (Franklin, MA/Xaverian Brothers) won the 3-meter diving competition, finishing with a score of 239.62. He also won the 1-meter competition with a score of 279.15 in the finals.

Matt Rolleston (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:22.81, and the 200-yard freestyle realy team wrapped up the meet with a win. The team of Ryan Facchine (Fairview, PA/Fairview), Matt Berus (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North), Matt Butler (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore East) and Farrell came home first in a time of 1:30.99.

The Tigers return to action next Saturday, January 25 when RIT hosts the University of Rochester at 1 p.m. at Judson Pool.
