Sean Sullivan and Danny Bloshkin tally to give men's soccer a 2-1 win at Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA -- Senior Sean Sullivan (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) and junior Danny Bloshkin (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) each scored leading the RIT men's soccer team (2-1-0) to a 2-1 win over Elizabethtown College (1-1-0) on Saturday afternoonon at day one of the Brothers Pizza Blue Jay/Red Devils Classic.

RIT held a 21-13 shot advantage over Elizabetown, taking six corner kicks to four for the Blue Jays. Sophomore Mark Reeves (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) picked up his second win of the season, recording three saves. Justin Signora took the loss for the Blue Jays, making four saves.

RIT took a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute on Sullivan's first goal of the season. He scored from the top of the box with a hard shot to the right of Signora off a fine service by Kurt Spiegel (Monroe, NY/Monroe Woodbury).

Bloshkin made it 2-0 Tigers with a goal in the 57th minute. He dribbled his away, around and through the Blue Jays defense and beat Signora to the right.

Bloshkin's goal proved to be the game winner as Elizabethtown pulled to within a goal in the 72nd minute on Andrew Sandridge's first goal of the season. He scored off an assist by Brent Batory who sent the service into the RIT penalty area that Sandridge ran onto and tapped inside the post.

RIT's defense held strong over the final 18 minutes to give the Tigers their second straight win.

The Tigers will face Dickinson College in game two of the Brothers Pizza Blue Jay/Red Devils Classic. Kickoff on Sunday afternoon is 1 p.m. from Carlisle, Pa.Â
