ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The No. 25 RIT women's soccer team (7-1-2, 2-0-0 Liberty League) won its third straight game with a 2-0 victory over Bard College (4-5-1, 0-2-0 Liberty League) in Liberty League action on Friday afternoon. The Tigers scored a goal in each half and stopped a penalty kick to remain unbeaten in seven straight games. Anka Parzych (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) and Sierra Kiss (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit) each scored for the Tigers.

Shots were even at 11 apiece, while RIT took four corner kicks to just one for the Raptors. Amanda Murray (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls) picked up her sixth shut out win of the season, making five saves. She came into the game ranked fourth in all of Division III with a 0.16 goals against average. Kelsey O'Brien took the loss for Bard, making five saves.

The first half was played evenly until the final 10 minutes, when RIT started to press forward. On the third of three consecutive corner kicks in the space of 27 seconds, freshman Elena Wolfe (Parsippany, NJ/Parisppany) made a pass upfield rather than bending the corner into the box. Sophomore Gwen Neuhaus (Woodbridge, VA/Potomac) played a long chip into the box, and Parzych ran onto it, punching it past O'Brien on the full volley in the 42nd minute. It was her second goal in as many games.

Bard carried much of the play in the second half, outshooting RIT, 10-3. With the Raptors selling out and pushing forward, senior Brianna Bean hit the crossbar over the head of Murray in the 57th minute, and three minutes later, Sylvia Kool hit the post with a shot.

On RIT's next possession, Shelby Vakiener (Fairport, NY/Fairport) lofted a long direct kick into the box, and Kiss pounced on the rebound, giving the Tigers a 2-0 lead in the 65th minute. It was Kiss' team-leading fourth goal of the season.

A minute later, Bard was awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box, but Murray stopped the PK try by Isabel Keddy-Hector to preserve the shutout. The Tigers have yielded just two goals in 10 games this season and are ranked third in all of Division II,I allowing a paltry 0.20 goals per game.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, when they face Vassar College at 2 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, New York. Last year, RIT beat the Brewers 1-0 in Rochester.
