ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's hockey team (11-10-3) moved a game over .500 with a 6-0 thrashing of Sacred Heart (9-11-2) at Ritter Arena on Saturday afternoon. Six different skaters scored a goal for the Tigers who were led by #

Ali Binnington (Oakville, Ontario/Mississauga Chiefs)# recorded her fourth shutout of the season, facing only 15 shots on the afternoon as RIT held a 71-15 advantage in shots.
Eleven different Tigers recorded a point in the contest and RIT scored four goals in the third period to put the game out of reach.
The Tigers dominated play in the first period, outshooting Sacred Heart 23-6. However, Mandy Montgomery made 22 saves in the period to keep the Pioneers within striking distance.
At the 16:29 mark, the Tigers broke through for the first score of the game. #
Ellesha Fortuna (Burlington, Ontario/Burlington Barracudas) took a feed from (Woodstock, Ontario/Waterloo K-W Rangers)Kim Schlattman (Stratford, Ontario/Cambridge Fury)# and Grigg and fired a shot past Montgomery.
Grigg got her second point of the night and extended the Tigers lead to 2-0 at the 14:31 mark of the second period. Grigg capitalized off of a Sacred Heart turnover behind their own net, and scored. RIT had a few chances to add to the lead but Montgomery came up big for the Pioneers, finishing the period with 23 saves.
With just over a minute remaining in the period, Melissa Robbins found herself on a breakaway with only Binnington to beat, but fired her shot wide. The shots were lopsided again in the period, with RIT leading 24-4.

Kristina Moss (Webster, NY/Buffalo Bisons) fired a shot that clanged off the post. Montgomery also robbed (Woodstock, Ontario/Waterloo K-W Rangers)Celeste Brown (Great Falls, MT/National Sports Academy)# on a rebound in front of the net with just over 15 minutes remaining.
Brown wouldn't miss her next chance, corralling a rebound off the boards and stuffing home her seventh goal of the season. #

Moss and Hiller both played in their 111th career games today, breaking the previous RIT record of 110 set by
