CANTON, NY -
The RIT baseball team (12-21, 7-15 Liberty League) dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Liberty League foe St. Lawrence (21-10, 14-7 Liberty League) on a sunny, but chilly Saturday afternoon at Tom Fay Field. RIT lost game one 4-0, then fell in game two 12-5. RIT led 5-0 in game two before St. Lawrence came roaring back. RIT hit into seven double plays on the afternoon.

In game one, RIT could not solve St. Lawrence starter Jason Conde, who stymied the Tigers bats, allowing just four hits in the complete game effort, striking out four. The Saints pushed single runs across in the second and third innings, then added two in the fifth. Khifer O'Connor drove in a pair of runs for St. Lawrence, while Jeff Kott was 2-for-2 with a run scored and driven in.

RIT had its chances, loading the bases with one out in each of the fifth and sixth innings, but Conde was able to coax double-play grounders in both frames, keeping RIT off the board.

Brian Brazee (Auburn, NY/Auburn) had one of RIT's four hits, extending his hitting streak to 14 games.  Ronnie Canestro (East Amherst, NY/Nichols), Greg Schworm (Rochester, NY/Churchville Chili), and #C.J. Bolorin also singled for the Tigers. (Rochester, NY/Greece Odyssey)Ethan Humbert# pitched well in defeat, allowing eight hits and three earned runs, while striking out four batters in the complete-game effort.

In game two, the Tigers held a 5-0 lead after the top of the fourth inning. Bolorin gave RIT the 1-0 lead in the second inning, singling in Brazee, who had reached on a single of his own, extending his hitting streak to 15 games. Canestro moved Brazee to third with a base hit.

RIT scored three times in the third, as Skip Flanagan (Framingham, MA/Bishop Feehan) walked and Walt Roman (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) was hit by a pitch. Brazee promptly doubled both runners home to make it 3-0. Jon Meyer (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) then hit a double of his own to knock in Brazee, giving the Tigers a 4-0 lead. RIT tacked on a run in the fourth, as Bolorin walked, stole second, and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Flanagan hit a ball that was dropped by the centerfield, scoring Bolorin.

From there, St. Lawrence scored twice in each of the fourth, fifth innings, then broke the game open with six runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. The Saints would tack on two more runs in the seventh to complete the scoring.

Paul Piatelli led St. Lawrence's 15-hit attack by going 4-for-5 with three doubles and two RBI's. Matt D'Autelli was 2-for-5 with a home run, double, and three RBI's. Bryan Palermo was 3-for-5 with three runs scored, while Matt DeLuca drove in a pair of runs. Matt Skelly picked up the win on the mound for the Saints, rebounding from a rough start to allow four earned runs in seven innings.

Brazee was 2-for-4 with two RBI's and two runs scored, while Bolorin was 2-for-3 with a walk, run scored, RBI, and two stolen bases.

The two teams meet once again on Sunday for a pair of contests that begin at 12 p.m.
