Baseball Drops Two Liberty League Contests to Skidmore

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 <strong><a href="/custompages/bb/2012/041412a.htm">Click HERE For Game 1 Stats</a><br /> <br /> <a href="/custompages/bb/2012/041412b.htm">Click HERE For Game 2 Stats</a><br /> <br /> ROCHESTER, NY -- </strong>The RIT baseball team (9-15, 4-10 Liberty League) was swept by Skidmore College (17-7, 9-5 Liberty League) 17-7 and 16-9 on Saturday afternoon at RIT Field.<br /> <br /> Skidmore broke the game open early in game one, scoring seven runs in the first, all with two outs.&nbsp; The Thoroughbreds would add on another run in the second, and two more in the third to hold a 10-0 advantage.<br /> <br /> The Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the third, when an RBI double off the bat of Brian Brazee (Auburn, NY/Auburn) scored Walt Roman (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport).<br /> <br /> RIT would rally in the fourth, scoring four runs.&nbsp; Skip Flanagan (Framingham, MA/Bishop Feehan) started out the inning with a hit by pitch, followed by a Tyler Ramotar (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) single.&nbsp; Greg Schworm (Rochester, NY/Churchville Chili) would single to load the bases, before CJ Bolorin (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) drove in two with a single up the right side.&nbsp; Ronnie Canestro (East Amherst, NY/Nichols) would then walk to reload the bases.&nbsp; Kreag Bradley (Victor, NY/Victor) would be hit by pitch to drive in Schworm, followed by a sacrifice fly by Brazee, scoring Bolorin.<br /> <br /> Skidmore responded with five runs in the top of the sixth, putting the game out of reach.<br /> <br /> The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first.&nbsp; Bradley scored RIT's first run on a balk by Isaac Forman, after reaching third on a double by Roman.&nbsp; Jon Meyer (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) then drove in Roman with a single.<br /> <br /> The Thoroughbreds would take control of the game with four runs in the third, and five funs in the fourth.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> RIT would rally with three runs in the fourth and two in the ninth, but came up short.<br /> <br /> The Tigers are back in action tomorrow, when they host Skidmore for a pair of Liberty League games, starting at noon.
