The Tigers got off to a slow start in game one, allowing five runs in the first two innings.  RIT managed two hits in the top of the third, with Ron Canestro (East Amherst, NY/Nichols) and Walt Roman (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) both singling, but couldn't cross the plate.

Game two saw the Tigers fall behind again, trailing 2-0 after three innings.

The Tigers came back in the top of the fifth to score one more run, as Meyer scored from third on a sacrifice hit by Jaren Bell (Rochester, NY/Brighton).

Union brought the game to within one after scoring three in the eighth, but Tyler Leichtenberger (Warren, PA/Warren Area) was up for the challenge in the ninth, striking out the side for his fourth save of the year, setting a RIT single-season mark.

Michael Burns (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) picked up his third win of the season, allowing just nine hits in 7 2/3 innings of work, while striking out four.

The Tigers are back in action on Sunday, when they meet up with Union for another double header, starting at 12 p.m.
