ROCHESTER, NY --
The RIT baseball team (4-5) was defeated by Brockport (10-5) 8-3 on Sunday afternoon at RIT Field.

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third, when Walt Roman (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) laced a triple, scoring Ron Canestro (East Amherst, NY/Nichols) from first.  Corey McEvoy (Hilton, NY/Hilton) followed that up with a single, driving in Roman.

The Golden Eagles came back with two runs in the fourth, and exploded for six runs in the fifth.

RIT rallied in the eighth, with McEvoy reaching base after being hit by a pitch.  Brian Brazee (Auburn, NY/Auburn) and Greg Schworm (Rochester, NY/Churchville Chili) each knocked singles to centerfield, before McEvoy scored on a wild pitch.  Tyler Ramotar (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) hit a single dto first, before Jaren Bell (Rochester, NY/Brighton) grounded into a double play to end the rally.

Skip Flanagan (Framingham, MA/Bishop Feehan) struckout three in four innings of work, while Conor Herlihy (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo), Wyatt Seybold (Rochester, NY/Greece Odyssey) and Chris Dickinson (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) combined for two innings of scoreless relief.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, when they host Rensselaer in their first Liberty League games of the season.
