ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT women's swimming and diving team (3-7) was defeated by Nazareth College (7-3) 182-111 on Saturday afternoon at Judson Pool. The Tigers won five individual events.
The 400-yard squad of #
Melissa Harrison (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley)#, #
Kate Macken (Gering, NE/Gering)#, #
Molly Woods (Avon, CT/Avon) and
Mariah Lamb (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa)# started the meet off with a third place finish in a time of 4:23.58. Harrison then picked up a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:05.83.
Jill Sirkis (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) won the 200-yard butterfly by almost eight seconds, completing the race in a time of 2:21.63. #
Katie Baldwin (Phelps, NY/Midlakes)# pulled out a close win in the 50-yard freestyle at 25.03 seconds. Baldwin then came back with a second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, at 56.89 seconds.

Colleen Manning (Farmingdale, NY/St. Anthony's)# grabbed a second place finish in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:20.74, while Sirkis picked up another win, in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.71.
The team of Lamb, Manning, Harrison and Baldwin closed out the meet with a third place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:53.68

Sam Huselstein (Olean, NY/Olean) and
Nicky Rosenberg (Middleton, WI/Middleton)# finished first and second in the 1-meter diving competition. Huselstein scored 201.40, while Rosenberg had a score of 160.90. Huselstein also came out victorious in the 3-meter competition, with a score of 199.50.
The Tigers are off for three weeks, with their next competition coming on February 22-25 at the UNYSCSA Championships.
