ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men's hockey team travels East on Interstate-90 for the second time in November to play a pair of games at Atlantic Hockey Association rival Holy Cross this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, both at 3:05 p.m.

RIT (2-6-1, 1-3-1 AHA) will look to get back into the win column after failing to record at least one point in a home weekend series for the first time since joining Atlantic Hockey in 2006. The Tigers fell to Mercyhurst on Friday by a score of 5-3, then allowed three third period goals in a 6-3 loss to Canisius the following evening. The Tigers are 0-3 at Ritter Arena this season and have allowed 17 goals in the three loses. Overall, RIT is 57th nationally out of 59 teams, allowing 4.33 goals per game.

RIT's power-play has scored at least one goal in six straight games and is 8 for its last 20 with the man advantage. Overall, RIT is now 12th nationally on the power-play at 22.9 percent. The penalty-killing unit has not allowed a goal over its last three plus games, spanning 11 chances. Junior forward Adam Mitchell (Crofton, MD/Baystate Breakers) leads the team and is tied for 14th nationally with 11 points in eight games on five goals and six assists. He has nine points (5-4-9) over a six-game point-scoring streak.

Holy Cross (6-2-0, 5-2-0 AHA) enters this weekend's contests riding a two-game winning streak after defeating Bentley 4-3 and Sacred Heart 6-3 last weekend. Kyle Fletcher was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Week after recording a pair of two-point games. The Crusaders have scored 26 goals and also allowed 26 tallies in 2012-13. Fletcher leads the team in scoring with 10 points on five goals and five assists this season. Fairport native Brandon Nunn also has five goals to lead the squad. In net, Matt Ginn is 6-1-0 with a 2.72 goals against average and .912 save percentage.

Mike Colavecchia (Maple, Ontario/Lindsay Muskies) leads all active Tigers with six points (4-2-6) in four career games against the Crusaders.

It will be the only regular season meetings between the two schools this season. The Tigers won both meetings between the two schools last season at Ritter Arena by scores of 2-0 and 6-5. RIT is 22-6-2 all-time against the Crusaders and a remarkable 18-1-2 since the start of the 2006-07 season. The Tigers are 6-0-2 at the Hart Center since 2006.
