PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT (8-5-1) men's soccer was defeated 1-0 at St. John Fisher (9-4-1) in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Growney Stadium.
In the 72nd minute, Fisher got the only goal when Danny Yancone sent a ball into Garhett Varin, who lifted a ball past RIT goalie
Sean Conway (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park)'s left side from just a few feet from the keeper for the goal.
RIT outshot Fisher 13-3, including nine shots in the first half. The Tigers took six corner kicks to one for the Cardinals.
Conway took the loss, allowing one goal and making one save. Kyle Metcalfe earned his fifth win of the year, stopping four shots for Fisher.
RIT return's to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 20 when the Tigers take on No. 17 St. Lawrence in a pivotal Liberty League matchup at Tigers Stadium.
