ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's basketball team (6-7, 2-2 Liberty League) defeated Clarkson (5-6, 0-3 Liberty League) 62-53 on Saturday afternoon at Clark Gymnasium. #
Courtney Tennant (Cortland, NY/Cortland)# led the way for the Tigers with 18 points, shooting 10-for-12 from the free throw line, while grabbed 15 rebounds.

Anne Wapshare (Blasdell, NY/Immaculata Academy)# chipped in with 14 points to go along with seven boards. Raeanne Clabeaux was strong for the Golden Knights, with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Wapshare hit three threes on the day, her last coming with 3:49 to play in the second half to give RIT a 12 point advantage. Clarkson cut the lead to seven with 1:33 left, but the Tigers hit their free throws in the closing minutes and came out with a nine point win.
RIT started the second half with a 7-0 run to grow the lead to 15. Clarkson then went on a 21-8 run, sparked by 10 points from Clabeaux.
RIT jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead in the first half, with Wapshare scoring four points and grabbing two steals. Clarkson responded with 13-1 run in just over three minutes. #
Jess Kramer (Fayetteville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt)# sunk a three at the 5:01 mark to regain momentum, ending a 9:26 stretch with no field goals for the Tigers.
RIT shot 32.1 percent (17-for-53) from the field, while Clarkson shot 31.3 percent (21-for-67). The Tigers won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Golden Knights 52-40.
The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday, when they host William Smith in a Liberty League matchup. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
