Baseball falls to Brockport despite Meyer's five RBIs

WEBSTER, NY -
Despite five runs batted in from junior catcher Jon Meyer (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland), the RIT baseball team (3-8) fell to SUNY Brockport, 10-6 at Field of Dreams Park, 10-6 on Sunday afternoon.

Meyer was 3 for 4 with five RBIs.  Kreag Bradley (Victor, NY/Victor) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.  Ben Robertson (Mecklenburg, NY/Trumansburg) scored twice and also stole a base for the Tigers,

Brockport (11-3), which went 8-2 during its trip to Florida, picked up its fifth win in its last six games.

Freshman Kyle Tracy and junior Anthony Siracusa each drove in a pair of runs, and Brockport broke open a 6-4 contest by scoring three runs in the sixth and seventh innings to break open a close game.

All nine Brockport's starters recorded stolen bases as Brockport swiped a season-high 12 bases. Entering Sunday, Brockport was 20-for-26 on stolen base attempts, but the Golden Eagles went a perfect 12-for-12 on stolen base attempts against RIT.

The Tigers will face Hilbert in a single game on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Webster.
